There's no place like home: A plea to my cold friends

This is a shout out to all my homies in the cold states. Please note... I am not bragging here, but trying to convince you that you chose poorly in a feeble attempt to get you to come home. This is a picture of a nifty gadget we bought a while ago to give to ...well... someone. I think this was a spur of the moment woot purchase.

I would like to point you to a few highlights.

1) Note the time: this was taken at 1:46am

2) Note the inside temperature:71 degrees. It is important to know that this temperature was achieved naturally. No heaters were harmed in the making of this perfectly comfortable ambient temperature. This phenomenon not only helps our electric bill, but also saves the planet.

3) Note the outside temperature. Yes, that is 53 degrees at 1:46 am. Has it even been that warm during the day my cold state friends?

So once again, I implore you, nay, beg you. Come home. Come back to the warmth. The sun misses you.

PS- as final proof that my argument is valid I just looked up the current temperatures in the aforementioned cold states. At the time of posting, it was 22 degrees in Grand Rapids, but feels like 10 degrees. Omaha is not much better registering a balmy 23 degrees that feels like 11 degrees. What are you people thinking? That is damn cold!

  1. Question: why does that doohickey show the sun partially behind clouds at 1:46 am?

  3. Answer: It has three forecast indicators: The sun means the weather is improving, the partially sunny means the weather is staying the same, and the rain cloud means the weather is getting worse. It reads barometric pressure changes and makes weather forecasts. Cool huh?
